Our Program
Little Rock Group Family Daycare branched out from Lighthouse Group Family Daycare and opened in 2022 to make room for younger children as Lighthouse transitioned into a 3K program.
We take pride in how we prepare our students for what they will face in a public school setting and for years to come. We provide them with everything they need to succeed and thrive in school – love, encouragement, social interaction with children their age, and a variety of fundamental skills.
We accept children between the ages of 18 months through 2 years old. We currently have openings for full-time and/or several part-time positions depending on the day.
Please note that the spaces for children under the age of two years old and for part-time students are very limited.
Our Classroom
18 months to 2 years
Intellectual
At this age, they start to learn by exploring with their eyes, hands and mouth. They bang, throw, drop, shake, and put items in their mouths. By age 2, your child’s vocabulary would usually be made up of 50 words. They will start to use two-to-three-word sentences as they identify objects around them, such as “More milk”.
Emotional
Children smile and giggle when they want more of something. They turn their head, shut their eyes, or cry when they want less of something. Young toddlers learn to manage their emotions through the ways parenting adults and others respond to them positively, are dependable, and show that enjoy being together.
Physical
At 24 months, children can begin to run, kick a ball, and walk up and downstairs (while holding onto someone’s hand. They will practice on their fine motor skills by holding onto crayons to scribble on pieces of paper.
Social
Young children learn to use smiles, cries, and other expressions to build connections with parents and others, guiding them to what the child wants or needs. Using positive responses helps reinforce growth for the children. Young children often imitate facial expressions to show emotions. The children will learn how to interact as others respond appropriately to what they do.
Advancing to the 3K Program
Children who have enrolled in our younger program before January will be given first priority in the 3K program located upstairs in Lighthouse Group Family Daycare.
